The Coronation ! This is what we did, thanks to the community for joining in and making it a success.  Sponsored by the Parish Council

Friday 5 May Evening: Fire Pit and Friends; Rock n Roll Bingo

6pm-midnight: Join the rest of the Village community as we gather round a firepit using our beacon on the ground outside The Royal Oak. Have a drink and catch up with friends. .

7.30pm-late: Rock n Roll Bingo.  Come to the Tap House for a fun Bingo session. Followed by a disco

Saturday 6 May: Royal Rummage Jumble, A Royal Quiz and Happy Jacks Band

2-4pm Royal Rummage Jumble Sale: After a quiet morning and early afternoon watching the Coronation, come along to the Village Hall for a right Royal Rummage Jumble Sale:  entry £1 per Adult  Refreshments Available.




Ring for the King - The bells at Christ Church will ring at around 4pm when the newly crowned King leaves the Abbey.  

7.30pm Tap House: A Royal Quiz followed by the Happy Jacks Band

Sunday:  Royal Oak Family Fun Day, Teas on the Green, Cricket and an evening around the Fire


11:00am: A special service at Christ Church Brockham.


12-2pm Organise your own Street Party.  If you don't have one, the Royal Oak welcomes you to join in outside the pub with your own food if you prefer.


12-2pm Cricket at Brockham Recreation Ground with tea and cake


2.30-5pm FONDS Teas on the Green, Christ church

12-5pm  Royal Oak Family Fun Day


Games and fun for all with Neil Long DJ from Radio Jackie egging us on.  Anyone who isn't partying on their own street come along at 12 with your own food or picnic.  Drinks and light bites are of course available at the Oak.


Suitable for all ages, just bring yourself for family fun on the Green. More follow royaloakpub.uk

3pm till late: Maypole dancing throughout the afternoon and into the evening.  Taphouse and Oak teams compete


After dark, come and enjoy a log fire on the green

Monday 8 May: The Giant Crown, wear your own made crown, music and Royal Cornish Teas

The crown will be built using pallets and steel rods (with help from Andy Curtis and his team at Surrey Hills Welding), and decorated by the residents and  craftspeople of the village. Two open workshops and also work from the art club, guides, cubs and scouts have contributed to what will be an amazing Giant Crown.


3pm on the Monday - The Giant Crown is revealed - come and celebrate and cheer on our young people who will parade around it wearing their own crown creations.

At school, nursery, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies, scouts and at home we hope all young people will create a masterpiece, a crown to wear to the Village Green on Monday at 3pm.  Come and and parade around the Giant crown with a prize for all.


Arrive for 2.45pm   Parade and prizes at 3.00pm !

Charles’ Cornish Cream Teas - Fit for a King!

2-5pm: Come and celebrate the Coronation Bank Holiday Monday and join us for a delicious freshly baked scone with strawberry jam & clotted cream and cup of coronation tea in the church garden.  


The Coldharbour Village Band will be playing from 3.30-4.30pm in the church garden. Coldharbour Village Band began almost 8 years and was originally made up of people from Coldharbour - most who had never played an instrument before - but in recent years has expanded and welcomes members from as far afield as Brockham.


Scout Bus Route for all - travel in style in our local vintage double decker bus to the Green in Style to have a cream tea, watch the kids parade in their home made crowns and see the final show of our Giant Royal Crown.


From 1.30pm pick up at a main bus stop starting at Strood Green.

Brockham Green. Village Hall 

Kiln Lane, opposite Nutwood Avenue. 

Betchworth Post Office. 

Station Road. 

A25 Pilgrim Cottages. 

Brockham Lane. 

Brockham Green. Nr Church .


Each circuit should take around 30 minutes, so back to Strood Green for 2pm, and 2.30pm resting at the Village Green for the 3pm Crown Reveal and parade.


The bus will start again by leaving the Green at 4, 4.30 and 5pm.
